"mi-ne" is

a new music creation system that can generate music based on photographs you show it.

a system that links feelings from what you see and feelings from what you hear.

The first prototype of "mi-ne" is on display at the Nextamago "Nazo" exhibition, held at Design Festa Gallery Harajuku from April 1 to 3, 2026.

How the "mi-ne" Prototype No.1 Works

1. "mi-ne" comes preloaded with pairs of photos and music. The music is written in Strudel, a music programming language.

2. "mi-ne" constantly checks to see if a photo has been placed on the camera. When a photo is placed, "mi-ne" first recognizes the white border around the photo, then it identifies which of the registered photos is inside the white border.

3. It combines the music associated with the recognized photos to create new music.
